How much does a property management service cost?
A property management service fee is usually taken as a percentage of the rate per night or month of the space being managed. This makes a lot of sense for both parties, because it ensures that both have the same goal of maximum occupancy thanks to a fabulous stay. On average, this fee is around 25%.
Bear in mind, a good management service will increase a rental’s rate significantly. This is best illustrated with an example. Imagine you currently rent a space with a nightly fee of $80 and 70% occupancy rate. Thanks to the expertise of a good management company, let’s say the nightly rate goes up to $100 with an 80% occupancy rate. Your rental income would increase from $1680 per month to $2400. If the agreed management fee was 25%, you would still take $1800. That’s $120 per month more than before, without having to lift a finger!
